[ Mock up sketch ] Eric - Merantau

This is the only poster where Eric appear clearly. But I disatisfied with the pose, thus, in the bus on the way home, I open my notebook and start sketch. I had three idea, two from the "job interview scenes" and one from "lift scene".

In the job interview, Eric had to won the fight against a big guy. After a series of deadly punch, he broke the guy's backbone
and throw him to the floor.

The lift scene was more tricky. I didn't know how low Eric and Yuda's stance. These are the reference:

and this is my mock-up sketch. Note that when I drew the pics, I did it on the bus on the way home. No picture reference. All came from my mind.

If I want to draw Eric, which move will be look good on picture?

Yet Another Burning Hanuman

I have drawn this theme many times and I never became bored of this theme.

Duhsasana Humiliate Draupadi

The picture was inspired by a scene in Mahabharata where Pandava was lost to Kaurava. Duhsasana tried to claimed Kaurava's victory by stripping Draupadi clothes. A miracle was happened, Draupadi clothes suddenly became so long and thus, Duhsasana failed in his attempt.

On the left, there were four Pandavas which are Sahadeva, Nakula, Arjuna, and Bhima. There should be Yudhistira but he was behind Draupadi and thus could not be seen on the pictures. On the right side, there were Kauravas, laughing at Duhsasana's attempt.

Karna vs Arjuna

The picture is inspired by a scene in Bharatayudha. Arjuna, the third son of Pandu fought Karna who defended Kaurava. Unknown to Arjuna, Karna was actually his eldest brother from the same other, Kunti. Karna knew this fact, but his loyalty, his solidarity and his friendship to Duryodhana made him insisted to be in Kaurava side.

The first president of Indonesia, "Soekarno" was named based on Karna.

Bare-back Woman

I love drawing woman from the back. I don't know why.

Being on the bus (Greyhound) for two days was a kind of torture. You would get bored but there was nowhere you could go. Therefore, I take my pencil and start practice drawing animal.

Drawing animal is always my weakness.

Bali Dancer

Dayak Warrior Princess

Dayak is the way Javanese people called the native of Borneo. They are actually consist of many tribes and ethnic but for Javanese (and influenced the other Indonesians including Malays), they are simply called "Dayak".

Dayak women are usually beautiful and some of them show chinese-heritage feature.

I know my drawing is inaccurate since I also add larger feather and gave the character weapon and shield. If you want to see more accurate pics, you can see in
http://rowlandom.wordpress.com/2006/05/03/selamat-gawai-dayak-agai-semua/

There are topic in an online malay forum that posted all ethnic in Malaysia including Dayak (yup.. Indonesia share Borneo Island with Malaysia)
